Exclamation cpu usage is at 100

ive got 3 cpu and 1 of them is extremely slow and ive got the most recent symantec package and when i go into the windows task manager it says cpu usage is at between 98-100% constantly and i went to check if anything was running in the back ground and it had an ie file runing in the back and it is where 93-95 % of the usage and when i end it all my icons disapear the task bar wont pop up and i have to restart my cpu i was just wondering if any1 knows whats wrong with it and how i can fix it.

I'm guessing you ended explorer though to make all the icons dissapear? When you do that you can just CTRL ALT DEL again and Run - explorer.

Are you sure it wasn't explorer? If it was you could always have a look on Google to see if there's anything - seems to be - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...5+cpu+explorer .

Have you thought about running malware scans? a lot of problems like that are caused by malware running on your system. I'd download Lavasoft Adaware, Spybot Search and Destory as well as AVG Antivirus. Update them and run full system scans, deleting all of which you find.
