    Predicting storage life

    How can i predict the life status of a USB flash drive (so i can make an urgent backup)?

    Most usb flash drives are designed with batteries that will last about 10 years. As far as telling how much longer it will last, the only way I know of would be to take it apart and check the battery.

    My usb flash disk doesn't have batteries, i'm talking of its components' life

    Wel USB flash disks will last quite a long time providing they are properly looked after! (not like me, I've given up buying them because I kept breaking 'em one after another lol..I don't take good care of my stuff :/)

    Lol...USB drives do not have batteries, where did u hear that? hahah they are powered once they are connected to the USB port on ur pc. But USB drives will last you a lifetime, just keep it in a good place.

    That's kind of what I was thinking Being able to be use the power from the PC is a feature of USB devices. I can even recharge my cell phone from my cell phone's USB data cable.
