    static ip forwarder

    does anyone know of a static ip fordarder?
    I have a dynamic IP and would like to find a service that allows me to have a static IP to forward to my dynamic one.

    no...
    I already have dyndns.
    But I want something exactly like dyndns, but instead of giving me a hostname, I want a static IP.

    Thanks,

    Well if you had a static IP you could use then you wouldn't need it to forward to your dynamic one. I don't think you are going to find what you are looking for. The only way the dynamic DNS things work is that lots of different hosts names point to the same IP and then that DNS server determines where to resolve it to based on the hostname.

    I mean it is possible to do, it is just that I don't think you'll find it on the net, at least not for free anyways.

    Can't you accomplish that through the use of either /etc/hosts or bind config files on your box with the dynamic IP? Or am I not understanding what you want to accomplish?
