    Where is the log off file?

    ok ive been messing with my desktop(ive got windows,not a mac) and ive added an odject dock to my desktop, and i want to have one of the icons to be a logoff button. Therefore i can just click the button bringing up the choice to log off or switch user, elimaniting the need togo to start--log off.

    The problem is i dono where the logoff file is...
    any help

    There isn't really a file that brings up that dialog, its part of the operating system. If you want it to log you off when push the button, you can have it run shutdown -l if you are running Windows 2000 or XP.

    It is included in shutdown.exe

    On your desktop create a shortcut with the directory of:

    "%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -l"
    that is an lowercase L not a 1.

    Then drag the shortcut onto the dock.
