    Network download cap-> possible?

    hi, i'm the administrator for a home network. the LAN router and WAN router are in my room.

    My problem, certain ppl connected to the network like to download more than the network can handle, which slows everybody else down to a halt.
    Is there a way to put a download/network transfer limit on certain connected computers/IPs?

    My network is using a D-Link DI-524 802.11g router, and Speedstream 5200 router, on Sympatico ISP.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yeah it's called a Bandwith Throttle. If you do a search for Network Bandwith Throttle, you will be able to find a ton of products. One that was listed within the top 10 on google that looked pretty good was Sof Perfects bandwith throttle.

    You can also see if your router supports QoS (Quality of Service) and you can usually set it so certain computers on the network have a lower priority than others. That would also solve your problem.
