    Paintshop and Winamp conflicts

    Hello.

Problem being that whenever I have WinAmp 3 and Paintshop 7 open, my PC gives me the blue screen of death then without being able to cancel or switch back to normal view to actually close or bring up the TaskManager, I HAVE no choice but to reboot either hard or code.

If either one is open by itself, nothing happens... all's well.
But if you have both open regardless of opening one, then later-on opening the other; within the half hour, crash.

Any ideas? They are both installed on the same drive, is that a possibly problem?

I am thinking about reinstalling one to another drive and testing that, but in the mean time, any ideas?

    Thanks.

and yes, I could use another media player, but I like WinAmp

--also, to kill two birds with one stone:
Another problem involves a pc game I have that on occassion freezes my system completely. I cannot Ctrl+Alt+Del. I am forced once again to reboot (the game is found on my second drive - slave)

I have recently upgraded within the last half year. So, I don't think it should have any problems with video etc.

Strange, you may have some sort of conflicting .dll file that they may both use. So you may have to ditch one of them.

Also, could it be a memory problem? PSP does not use much memory, unlike Photoshop 7. So I am not too sure about that. My bet is on the conflicting .dll files.

By the way, I hate winamp and use Sonique Media Player (www.sonique.com) instead. It is much better, and looks a hell of a lot better with the e-razor skin, or the misery skin.

    Sonique Rules!

    ^.^

    Thanks
I didn't think about the dll file conflict thing but it could be it.

I also downloaded this new media player. Liking it already. Now I just gotta figure out how to use it for pref's and skins.

I think I'll bring this media program home and try it out with PSP and see what happens. I like Real Player, but I'd rather not use that if I can help it

I am considering ditching winamp due to the crashing/freezing whatever-it-feels-like-doing-at-the-time, problems.

    --thanks again--

No worries, it is our jobs to help, well not jobs, but - well you know what I mean.

    I hope you enjoy Sonique,

If you download a skin, or a plugin, save it into the skin/plugin directory in the Sonique directory where you installed it. And just double-click the icon, and Sonique will do the rest.

Also, if you have any errors, go to http://forum.sonique.com, and they will answer any questions that you may have.

    Enjoy!

Thanks many times over. I may be overdoing it, but even the "Always-on-top" feature and volume is better then Winamp.

Wooo better days, okay I'm done.
    ciao.
