know of a good Boot Loader?

    Hey whats up.

Does anyone know of any free windows boot loader that will boot either of two different partitions each containing the same version OS? particularly win98. Or better yet has anyone ever written one that they might be so kind as to share? I've tried "GAG" but for some reason it really 'trips' on me.. i've used LILO for linux but could not get it to work with just 2 windows installments ive also tried GRUB and that one actually just overwrote my fat32 partitions, lol. sucks.

But what I've been trying to do for a long time now is have one offline partition and one online partition. with the online one being like 1-2 GB so if any spyware/viruses are difficult to get rid of.. a format and re-ghost will only take a few minutes.

And on another note.. would it be possible to hide these partitions from each other.. using a 3rd partition as a "temp" to transer files to and from ?

I am a fan of GRUB, and I find it works really well...

But if you are looking for an online one why dont you just run a VMWare of a linux client when ever you want to go online?
Note: I do not test code. I just write it off the top of my head. There might be bugs in it! But if any thing I gave you the overall theory of what you need to accomplish. Also there are plenty of other ways to accomplish this same thing. I just gave one example of it. Other ways might be faster and more efficient.

yeah i have a few diff distros of linux/unix: zenwalk, debian, mandrake. I found that w/ zenwalk it lets me view my windows partitions.. but i dont think that i can write to them? And i want to be able to download stuff into a "download" partition applications for use in windows. Just because windows has alot of my favored applications, mostly design stuff, multimedia.

So you can setup GRUB with just 2 windows partitons? or is it primarily only for linux/unix ?

Yes you can set up GRUB to host two windows...
