Uploading .access file in dreamweaver MX 2004

I created an .access file, and uploaded it from a PC in dreamweaver MX 2004. It works, but I cannot see the file anymore on the remote server - I can see the file in dreamweaver under the section 'my local files'. Also, when using the view through the web site host in their site (Easyspace, gold), I cannot see the .htaccess file. I am very reluctant to do anything more until I can find the file as I am in no position to delete the file on the remote server if anything is wrong. Can anybody possibly help, please?

Get another ftp program like FileZilla it should allow you to hide or show .htaccess files. Usually those files are hidden until you tell the ftp program to show them.

Thank you very much. I finally understood and loaded the FTP programme FileZilla, and it works. Best regards Brigitte
