Build your own laptop? I mean from parts, not custom ordered from dell...

    Anyone think this is feasible?

    anything is possible

It will cost you a small fortune. To be honest you might be better off buying a used laptop that you can source parts for to upgrade. Failing that starting from scratch will cost way more money than a desktop build.
Therapy is expensive, popping bubble wrap is cheap, you choose.

Usually in laptops everything is intergrated into the motherboard to maximize space efficency. You can buy mobile processors of pricewatch. (www.pricewatch.com) but then you'd need:

    *A battery
    *A charger
    *Keyboard
    *touchpad
    *LCD
    *Drive bay
*A laptop hard drive (These aren't hard to come by)

Its pretty inpractical to build your own. Theoreticlly speaking it is possible but you'd be much better off just buying one from Dell or some other company.

Oracle Guy, I guess by LCD you mean the screen, I was thinking the problem was the encasement though? Also, I don't need the touchpad, I always plan to use a mini-mouse attached. I am familiar with pricewatch, but not exactly sure how (or if) to go about this.

BTW, OracleGuy, I dig the username, what Oracle products you use?

Yeah I mean the screen. The case could be a problem too... didn't think about that.

I don't actually use any Oracle products. (Not that they aren't bad!) I mean the definition of Oracle as in wise counsel.

That's funny, I once heard two people discussing philosphy and mentioned the oracle and delphi, I approached them thinking I was getting into a technical conversation about Oracle and Delphi, but ehh, that was the last of it I understood. Something about veils of ignorance and Kant, lol...
