    Recommend a KVM switch

I've now got two computers - HP laptop with Windows XP Pro, Compaq desktop with Windows 98, soon to become Linux - that I'm wanting to share a display, keyboard, mouse, printer, speakers. I understand that a KVM switch may be the way to go, since it doesn't need a seperate power supply and would be OS-independant.

My keyboard and mouse are a wireless set, connected to the computer via a USB connector, or attached PS/2 for keyboard and PS/2 adapter for mouse. VGA connection for the monitor. I wouldn't mind being able to connect my printer (USB) and speakers to be usable by both computers, if possible.

I've taken a look on the net, and there are so many listed. Here's one found on Amazon (and available locally):

Linksys 2 port, integrated 6-foot cables

Looks all right. Anyone used this one? Reviews are mixed, but seem to be generally positive (this changes quite a bit depending on the particular brand and model) It doesn't seem to specify extra USB connections, or speakers or such. Any suggestions for others?

I haven't ever used that one but I have used several Belkin KVMs with good success.

They do make KVMs that have USB ports on them so you can switch USB devices and ones that also have DVI on them.

The belkin KVM's are good for home use and the price point is good for the average home user too. Plus the warranty you get with belkin products makes it good value for money
