    Disable options through registry

Is there a way to disable certain options or tabs in display properties using the registry? Also is there a way to disable locking the computer in Windows XP through the same method

What are you are looking for is the Group Policy snap-in. If you open up mmc from the run window, you can add it in and configure a bunch of security options like that. But if you are editing the local computer, Microsoft kinda half-assed the job and the security permissions apply to all the users on the computer, you can't do it selectively. So like if you disable the button to lock the computer, no one can unless you go in and re-enable it.
