Need Help with Creative ZenXtra MP3 player & data backups

    Hey,

I recently reformatted my pc and thought I would back up all my important stuff onto my mp3 player which is the 30gb model of the Creative Labs ZenXtra player. The backing up worked fine and I had 15 gigs of stuff backed up in no time. Now that my computer is ready for restoring I try and get the files back off of the player and it wont let me! It says that the player is not readable and stalls in the 'thinking' stage when I try and copy my files back over to the computer. I can delete and all that, but I just cant get it back onto my pc..the player still plays so I dunno what the problem is and was hoping that someone here may have had the same problem and/or possible solution.

Hmm. . .I think I might have this problem too. I haven't tried getting anything off the player, but last I tried I had the same problems you are describing when uploading to the player. Haven't really looked into it much though, there are like 4000 songs on it so I didn't really think much of it when I couldn't add 100 more. On a side note, if you ever turn your player on and it just says hard disk error. . .just give a good solid whack on the side while you are turning it on - it really does work

Hmm, mine has yet to require any 'percussive maintainence' but its gonna be a real pain to restore everything I had on there, alot of the stuff I guess I can do without, like my pictures and stuff even though they are hard to let go, but ive also got alot of source codes and stuff for projects that ive been working on...thats gonna be a jagged pill to swallow. Next time ill just transfer the stuff over to my xbox, its got a 120 gig hd in it and its faster....why didnt i just do that in the first place
