What Operating System do you use?

I've decided to restart this, but I'm laying down a few rules:

    • All ordinary forum rules and posting guidelines (flaming, etc.)
    • No pointless Mac v. Windows debates, or Linux v. Windows, or Mac v. Linux, etc.
    • Use your common sense

    Pfff!!!
You gave Windows ME (P.O.S) it's own option but left win2k as 'Misc. Windows'?!

    Consider yourself flamed
Why must this pointless thread be rehashed every 6 months when sites like w3schools and google give more accurate results?

I take no responsibility for the above nonsense.

No Win2k but there's Win ME, now would you call that common sense?

Mostly Fedora Core 3 and Windows XP Pro when the need calls.

Keeping an eye on Fedora Core 4 though

I bet Windows 2000 is still more widely used than Windows ME, but feel free to correct me (Win ME isn't detailed itself on W3schools OS stats)

Why didn't you have windows 2000 as a choice instead of Win ME...Win ME was a catastrophic faliure by MS IMO.

Well having Windows 2k is pointless on a standalone machine used only for home use. XP home will provide all the user functionality that 2k would.

I had it on one of my home machines for a while and it was fine for me...However all my machines now run XP Professional.

I agree, these results are so badly distorted that they don't serve much use at all. We are all for better or worse computer people and what we use doesn't accurately represent what the rest of the computer using world actually uses.
