    Dvd-r

I know that this is a bit off topic but I was wondering if anyone can tell me the answer to this question.

I have bought 100 DVD-R discs for my computer. I am purchasing a new DVD recorder to record from TV. If the new DVD recorder is of the same format (DVD-R) can the same discs be used in this recorder as well as the computer's DVD player or are the discs different?

Your help would be much appreciated.

If they are of the same format then they will work as long as your tv can record to dvd-r and your pc play dvd-r movies, however if you have a dvd player in your computer it'll be fine I guess

The only thing that could stop you from playing the recorded DVDs on your PC that you made on your TV thing would be if it used DRM.

But if your DVD burner in your PC can use DVD-Rs and the TV one can, then you can use the same discs.
