    networking win2k and winXP

i cant get my win2k and winXP to connect with each other. i have enabled file sharing on both computers but i can't see the other computer. i read a website suggesting to disable the XP firewall but it hasn't worked.

    i'm open to suggestions....

Have you made sure they are in the same workgroup i.e. MSHOME or WORKGROUP?

How are you connecting them? via a Cat5e Crossover cable or through a router/switch?

Can you share files between them after enabling file sharing and sharing a drive? Can you ping them?

Do they have different LAN IP addresses? such as 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2?
