    AOL problem!

Sometimes when I am on FireFox, everything freezes up and AOL starts by itself. Can someone help me fix this problem?
Life has no purpose, because it was not created with a purpose in mind. Take paper for example. Paper was created by humans so they could write or draw on it. Life was created by nature, and since nature is an imaginary force (when really nature is only space and time), life was created for no purpose, and therefore has no purpose.

Eh...I don't know Probably just the AOL browser. If not, then IE.

Shouldn't the title be "AOL = problem"?

Do you have the AOL browser set as the default browser on your system? What OS are you using?

I know jack all about AOL's browser, but can't you uninstall the browser or would that screw with your internet connection? Isn't there any way to set it not to run at all?

Spook, I already set FireFox as the default browser, and Wez, someone else who works on this computer uses AOL and I can't uninstall it. I think I will need to reinstall FireFox.

Can you recall what you were doing when the AOL browser opens? Does it open when you click on certain links or do you have any other software on the computer that accesses the Internet that could cause the AOL browser to be opened? Spyware? That would be the next thing I would look at. Try installing Lavasoft AdAware and Spybot and run those and see if you have any spyware.

Sometimes when I am on FireFox, when I click on any link the status bar shows the word "Stopped" and nothing happens. Then when I quit FireFox, AOL starts up.

AOL has far too many problems to mention, my advice is get rid of their browser or change ISP altogether. Make sure that IE or FF is set to default browser

    AOL #$#%^&%$&(!

Do your friend or whatever a favor and tell them to get rid of AOL and get a decent ISP. AOL = A#*holes On Line...

The whole AOL organization should be put in jail for fraud. They are just pretending to be an ISP

I heard that they are cleaning up their image of being crap, however I've only ever seen home users user AOL as their ISP, as I bet a lot of businesses wouldn't touch them, if they even sold business broadband - I don't know
