    question about used mac..

There is a Mac 6115 CD for sale here, with
    sonnet g3 card installed
    a 4 gig HD
    72 megs RAM
    monitor, keyboard, mouse
it says "perfect condition, os8.5 just installed"

it is for sale for $250
that seems cheap, but i want to know if i'm missing something
my hope is that it is fine and i would just upgrade the ram and the hd, but maybe something is getting past me. isnt g3 a quality processor?

    thanks

G3 is old. sounds like the mac is probably 2-3 years old. Is it a Mac that you want or are you just considering it because of the price?

I have an I book that I use mainly for my graphic classes/work, and a PC that I use for day to day crap stuff.

I thought it may be nice to have a full 'tower' mac because I could upgrade it along with my needs easier than an I book.

It's mainly because of the price, if its logical to spend that and work with it, than I would do it. but I'm not in need of one..

Woooah! Sorry Spookster, you're way off the mark. That machine is at least 7 years old and has a current value of 50-100 dollars. Take a peek here at the specs:

If you want opinons on it I suggest you go to apple's site www.apple.com and pose your question in Support > Discussions > Hardware > Older Apple Products. These include Performa questions.

lol ok so my sense of time is a bit off. Has it been that long already?

Considering you can get a top of the line new PC these days for as low as $650 it would be a waste of money to put $250 on a Mac that old.
