my pc will not accept cookies

Any idea why this is? I have set everything in the security and privacy tabs to the default levels. I'm using the latest IE with Windows 2000 Pro.

I'm not getting error messages. Here's what's happening for instance:

I will choose a theme on a forum. The theme is not remembered on future visits (as it is when I attempt the exact same thing on another machine). In addition, preferences are not remembered on other sites. Very strange.

In IE click on the tools menu, then click on Internet Options, then click on the Privacy tab. Midway down click on the settings button, check to see that there aren't any sites that are set to block cookies. Then click on the advanced button, this could be an SP2 option so I'm not sure if its on Win2K, but here you may see an option that blocks 3rd party cookies and such. Finally, this may be an issue with some sort of security software you have, like a Firewall, that is blocking third party cookies.

    I agree:

SORRY for the big picture, and the second screenshot is in a different language, I got it off images.google
Life has no purpose, because it was not created with a purpose in mind. Take paper for example. Paper was created by humans so they could write or draw on it. Life was created by nature, and since nature is an imaginary force (when really nature is only space and time), life was created for no purpose, and therefore has no purpose.

Firefox (and Opera + safari) have more functionality and are more secure than the likes of IE. They also all support modern web standards and stuff like RSS and XML. Opera 8 beta 3 also supports SVG natively now.
