    Windows Media Player Question??

    hello, does anyone know how to save a streaming video to your computer using wmp ? or anyway at all ?

    File > Save Media as.

    well when it has finished downloading/buffering and it is playing, go to file. click on save media as. then you can save it to your computer...

    if you cant, ill download it for you and then give it you one way or another.

    ah just noticed..just played it and it must have copyright protection < cant download it through WMP.

    o man ... thats probably why then ... is there a way to download that without wmp ?

    it gets cached in internet explorer in the temp files, you can copy it from there and save it to your computer, but hosting it on your site could get you into legal trouble, so i wouldn't advise it.

    Well, streaming media isn't always cached as such (it may be in a *.dat file), but if you can locate the mms protocol URL from an *.asx, or embedded object, the stream can be viewed and saved using SDP MultiMedia.

    I believe the purpose of streaming media is to eliminate the stealing and downloading of the media. But, I'm not quite sure but if you've view the video before, it should be in your cache.
