Slipstreaming XP pro SP 2 - Update.exe Crash.

    Hello,

I am having a problem when I slipstream windows server pack 2 for windows xp pro. I get an error where Update.exe crashes after I extract sp2 into a folder, copy the windows xp pro contents to a folder, and run this command:
    C:\SP2\i386\update>update.exe -s:c:\xppro\i386
    C:\SP2 = Server Pack 2
    C:\xppro = Windows XP Pro

    Update.exe keeps crashing.
I am lead to beleive that the computer I am working on is working perfectly, recently formated (Windows 2000 Pro)

    Any Ideas?
Google is leading me no where

    Thanks.

We solved this problem by running the slipstream on an XP system, and it worked fine.

There might be a microsoft problem where the update.exe does not like the OS of Windows 2000 pro, or there is another problem that we are unaware of.

Anyway, we have our XP SP2 CD now, so no worries.
