    'device connect/disconnect; sounds...

    Hi,

I keep hearing the sounds 'Device connect' and 'Device disconnect' repeatedly maybe every 15 minutes. The mouse becomes unresponsive when this happens, the cursor disappears and I cannot move mouse. This has been going for more than 2 months.

I detached all usb stuff keeping just mouse and keyboard but problem persists.

    Thanks

    ...I have windows 10.

Probably a bad mouse, have you tried another? Have you tried the mouse in a different USB port? Could be a bad connector on that port.
I would rather have questions that can't be answered, than answers that can't be questioned.

    Hi,

I used to plug and unplug the printer cable frequently - and I did the same thing for my usb external drive. I wonder if this was a bad habit and if I ruined/damaged something?

I think bad connection caused this. Maybe, it can update driver and reset your computer.
