New hardware found (no clue what)!

    Hi,

All of a sudden pc shut down and when it restarted it found new hardware - have no idea what it found though since I didn't add anything to the pc for like years...

    Took screenshot of device manager...

    What could this be?

    Thanks

Are you running any virtual machines?

Do you have flash drives with Readyboost on them?

Any boot discs in the drive?

Are you sure those are not your mouse/keyboard or other devices, and your computer is not just being stupid and not recognizing them?

    Any addon programs installed recently?

Either on that screen or before your computer starts, unplug your keyboard/mouse, see if that fixes the problem. If so, your computer is randomly detecting them as new hardware.

As for Addon programs, anything that would have access to your registry? Or that modified anything in your computer that you are unfamiliar with?

    I'll try that.

As for addon programs I installed sure tools like registry cleaners:
    glaryutilities and ToolwizCare for instance.

If all your hardwares are working properly, then just disable that newly found hardware (from device manager) and proceed with other jobs

I think you are affected by trojen virus.
Because there is a trojen it will just show you new hardware is found and then restart your computer.
Just update your antivirus or use the better one.

YOur keyboard and mouse should be showing up under input devices. If they are in unrecognised devices or new hardware they won't be working as the drive won't be installed.

    This is bizzare...

I would guess it's a software problem with something you've installed recently that is emulating hardware
