Outlook Express wont save my password

When I set up my outlook express mail accounts I checked the save password box, and it still prompted me for my password. I've gone back in and rechecked it and no sooner than I hit apply and okay and go back into properties the password field is empty again. I have three mail accounts set up and it won't remember any of them so every time I open it to check my mail I have to enter all three passwords. Trust me it gets really annoying.

I also have the autocomplete feature turned on in IE6 and it never works. I don't think they're related but who knows. Any suggestions?

I'm running windows 2000... I got half way through the article that you directed me to.. I need to get some sleep before I attempt to do all of that. It sounds like that is exactly that my problem is though, thanks for the info. If this works you'll be my new best friend!
