    Graphics card advice wanted

    Hey guys,

I currently have a graphics card that came with my PC but I wanted to upgrade - and some help really (as I know nothing about hardware). Currently I have a Geforce 8400 gs and according to "dxdiag" there is 2gb of video memory available. When I google the card it says they're 1gb graphics cards only though so I'm not sure.

Either way, I'd like to upgrade to something with a HDMI output that could handle some of the newer games - I've not really got a price range in mind but wondered if I'm limited due to things like my processor and motherboard? I can get more detailed specs if needed.

    Cheers,
    Garry.

    Hai,

The current Graphics Card you are having is pretty good.

If you are looking for a higher end for the latest games them going for GeForce GTX 700 series will be awesome.

    Thanks

Its good that currently you have a graphics card in your PC but what is its size. And for further enhancement in you system may require more size, otherwise when you start playing any game its too slow and may be hanged sometime.

There are many cards on the market now that could probably do what you want. Personally I've always used a Geforce as my dedicated card. I guess it really depends on your current system spec and money. Go to the nvidia website first to check the system requirements of their current top cards. Wouldn't want to part with lots of money only to find it won't work.

You have pretty good graphics card, but if still you want to upgrade it, then you should purchase nVidia GTX 700 series card.
