A combination of AVG (free and works as well as any pay AV app) and MalwareBytes should keep you up and running.

MalwareBytes free version is only good for removing what slipped in. But the paid version also scans in real-time.

Agreed 100%. Also Malwarebytes paid version, which can work alongside Avast. With these two active I have never had a virus.

All the code given in this post has been tested and is intended to address the question asked.
Unless stated otherwise it is not just a demonstration.

I think Microsoft security essential is the best antivirus for free memberships. Because it is lighter than any other antivirus and good protecting ability from virus and malware. The main advantage is this antivirus is ask you before delete the virus or malware. If you are a premium member I think Kaspersky is the best for you. Because it is very strong virus protected than any other antivirus. The main advantage is this antivirus is ask you before delete the virus or malware and its automatically copy your virus attached file to fresh virus free file and delete the old virus attached file from your PC.

There are only 2 pieces of software I've trusted to protect my computer - they are Spyware Doctor and Malwarebytes - never had an issue with both of them running and I do regularly download a lot of junk!
