    fireftp TypeError: gSiteManager is undefined

    Hello,

    After restarting my firefox, I get the following error when I open fireftp
    Error message= TypeError: gSiteManager is undefined
    URL= chrome://fireftp/content/js/etc/sessionsPasswords.js
    Line Number= 303
    Any idea about how to fix this? The dropdown that lists the ftp accounts shows the default (Create and account) option and it repeats the error with a different line number,when I click on it.
    Error message= TypeError: gSiteManager is undefined
    URL= chrome://fireftp/content/js/etc/sessionsPasswords.js
    Line Number= 2
    The dropdown doesn't even expand to show all accounts, when I click on it.

    I can view the script by typing the url chrome://fireftp/content/js/etc/sessionsPasswords.js, but I'm unable to locate the actual path on my system.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

    Exactly the same problem here.
    Yesterday fireftp worked fine...

    What I've done shortly before activating fireftp:
    - Installed latest Win7-Updates
    - Upgraded / updated Avira Antivir
    - Deactivated Java-Plugin in FF (due to hint by FF)

    Maybe something related to that?

    Greetings
    Wolf

    Thx for this hint.

    Tried to install fireftp 2.0.6 (= upgrading from 2.0.5)
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fireftp/
    -> still the same problem.

    Tried to additionally install
    http://nightlight.ws/static/fireftp.xpi
    -> nope, still the same.

    Hey guys... registered just to say I have the same issue, and this appears to be the only relevant Google search result.

    I also was alerted to disable Java Platform by Firefox. Not sure if FireFTP was functional before disabling Java since I hadn't launched it today prior to disabling Java.

    I've tried manually updating Java Platform to the latest version, and attempted all the above (installing the XPI) and no solution yet either.

    Like PanicRev, I've registered to say that this was the relevant hit by Google.

    I have managed to go back to 2.0.5 (I picked it up from cnet http://download.cnet.com/FireFTP/300...-10546451.html ) and that's working fine, but of course, it's worth trying Mime's dev version (found in abduraooft's link https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=25050 above) to see if it manages to migrate your old account file.

    It doesn't appear to be related to the Java Runtime Environment plugin being disabled, although I did update as a result of the old 10.0.0.147 being disabled

    Hmm. You solved the problem by going back to 2.0.5, HolaPussycat?! Very strange, because I encountered this running fireftp 2.0.5 and tried to fix it by upgrading to 2.0.6 (see my post #4 above).

    Well, according to https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=25050 also the developers seem to work on it right now...

    it's not really the only google result but I registered here just to say that I have the same problem. fireftp was working normally 1 hour ago, I added a new account and uploaded a site there, now as I try to run it it gives the

    "Error message= TypeError: gSiteManager is undefined
    URL= chrome://fireftp/content/js/etc/sessionsPasswords.js
    Line Number= 303
    Error message= TypeError: gSiteManager is undefined
    URL= chrome://fireftp/content/js/etc/sessionsPasswords.js
    Line Number= 2"

    btw its also being discussed here but no result so far (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewto...1533#p12201533)

    Exactly! I experienced this problem with 2.0.5, attempted a fix by upgrading to 2.0.6. But the real twist is that reverting back to 2.0.5 seemed to work.

    Linky linky if anyone needs 2.0.5:

    Where it all fell apart for me...

    I got a message from Thunderbird minutes ago. This was the same message I responded to originally which caused FireFTP to stop working:

    Add-ons may be causing problems

    X Thunderbird has determined that the following add-ons are known to cause stability or security problems:

    Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U2 10.2.0.13

    Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U2 10.2.1.255

    Both lines had 'Disable' check boxes checked by default

    The dialog box indicated also 'For your protection, it is highly recommended that you restart with the add-ons disabled.

    This time ( after re-installing 2.05 ) I unchecked the check boxes and closed it without restarting Thunderbird. FireFTP is still working after closing the dialog box.

    errr... Yes. Did you try it? (Going back to 2.0.5 on the cnet links)

    As Mime implies, he's migrating from one format for how the accounts are saved, to a new format. It might be that our back and forth is actually fixing differences in the file format as we go (incidentally, trying to upgrade again to 2.0.6 reinstates that same error). One other thing I noticed is that the version number in the install.rdf for the nightly build, is showing up as 2.0.5, so it may be that we're seeing a little bit of a version control mix-up. The one on cnet it working, the nightly build isn't (for me).

    (And indeed, not the only result, but the first useful one I found)

    Direct from the Mozilla Extensions site

    If you're more comfortable with downloading the older versions from the Mozilla Extensions site (I haven't tested them though, see the point I made above about potentially being different versions) here's a link:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...eftp/versions/

    At least for those who had problems at 2.0.5 too, there's the option of getting 2.0.4

    Any comments from those going up and down the versions to find the one that works for them, might be useful for future reference.

    YES, it works! Downgrading again to 2.0.5 via http://download.cnet.com/FireFTP/300...51.html?tag=bc helped, fireftp is working again.

    But still strange... Obviously sth. in connection with this Java-Plugin.

    Thanks to all!
