    XP does not support Java?

Can anyone please tell me why whenever I install netscape in XP windows, the java applet are always excluded. Is this because windows XP don't support it?

Windows XP is not shipped with the JVM (Java virtual machine) as standard. You have to download it: http://java.sun.com/getjava/

I believe you have an error in your syntax. It should read

    <operatingsystem best="LinuxMandrake9" newest="LinuxMankdrake9">Your text</operatingsystem>

Actually, I belive that XP was only shipped without Java for about the first month, then it was added again.

You can read the article at MS.
