    KaZaA Security Alert

I have discovered a major security flaw in the KaZaA peer to peer file sharing software. I will not share the details of what I have found to the public however I will say DO NOT USE KAZAA IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A GOOD FIREWALL SYSTEM UP AND RUNNING.

Basically I discovered how to gain access to a person's computer who is running KaZaA. KaZaA if you did not already know acts as a server similar to how a web server runs however without the features of security that a normal server would have.

KaZaA leaves your computer wide open.

What would you class as a good firewall? I have zonealarm running as well as the one that was setup when installing broadband - any other steps I can take?

I look at KAZAA as a virus and wouldn't ever install anything so heavily infested with spyware in the first place. If you found a bug in it you should be posting the alerts to the BUGTRAQ mailing list.

That's kind of like asking here about how you cut out the pop ups added by your web host. That spyware is their condition for getting KAZAA so I'll just do without.
