    SMS software?

    Hi.

I have around 100 contacts in my system address book which also has cellphone nos.

Is there any application to send automatic or manual SMS to all or particular Mobile phone contacts through the system?

1.Either i can connect a cell phone to the system by a pci slot ?
    2. or any direct application which will be able to run in Internet?

    Any possibilities?

    It can be done

requires software, dedicated server and quite a few dollars to boot.

It is achievable but only at a high cost. Perhaps stick with sms on the cell phone or use a third party site.

Last time I checked there was no free way do automatically send SMS. Afaik most buisnesses hook a phone up to a serial port (as there is plenty of free software on sourceforge to send SMS via a phone over a serial port, as long as you dont mind paying the normal SMS fee of your phone) If they dont do this then they are probably renting a server connected to a mobile phone.

However, due to advances in IP telephony such as voip, you may now be able to find some cheap/free automatic way of sending SMS over the internet. Most websites that let you send sms similar to freebiesms will have a usage limit and/or only send to a particular a network or country.

freebiesms has this page: http://www.freebiesms.co.uk/developers.aspx which you may find useful.

Copyright 2007, Standard text messages to Orange, O2 (UK) and T-Mobile are free to send, other networks cost 60p to send. For Messages sent to O2,Orange and T-Mobile networks, the recipient will have the option to pay £5 to read the message. Users must be 16+, this is not a subscription service.
thats on the bottom of the site too, you want your customers or whatever to pay a 5er to read there txt message? bit over the top dont you think?

I wasn't sure if that only counted under the "Reverse Charged" option on the developers page or the "Pay Per Use" option too.

In order for that site to be "free", it may just use reverse charged in its own system, causing these charges
