How good (bad) of a programmer will I become?

Hey, I wanted to register here because I have some questions about my programming development skill. I am beginning with a Python interactive course, even after obsessing a little too much and hopping through different languages as a result.

I am pretty good with following syntax. But sometimes my mind can't wrap around the problem solving that great. There were times in my real life where I was being illogical and not solving problems the "efficient" way. I don't get it. Everyone says I'm an intelligent person, but I don't feel that way. I don't even grasp how to design ahead, because in my real life, I NEVER think of what to say before I do it. It makes me feel uncomfortable and I don't feel like my thinking is natural. I wish I can find a way to improve this. Also, when I did try new hobbies in the past, I would only burn out after a few sessions of pursuing it.

    HELP!!

What exactly would you like us to help you with?
To save time, lets just assume I am almost never wrong.

    The XY Problem
The XY problem is asking about your attempted solution (X) rather than your actual problem (Y). This leads to enormous amounts of wasted time and energy, both on the part of people asking for help, and on the part of those providing help.

And for right now, this isn't career-related.
