Hello all, I am a junior finance major at my current University. I am thinking about possibly double majoring in finance and Computer science. My reasoning behind this is I would like to eventually like to create my own stock/currency trading platform. Many companies are selling their platforms for more money than I am willing to pay. Since these platforms are so expensive, I thought why not get some training and try to create my own. I am looking for advice on if this goal would be attainable or if i am in over my head. (Keep in my I am completely new to this so I hope this isn't a stupid question.) Thanks!

I would say that it would be far beyond your single-handed capabilities to create a stock/currency trading platform. That is why they are expensive. And surely such things are licensed/regulated?

All the code given in this post has been tested and is intended to address the question asked.
Unless stated otherwise it is not just a demonstration.
