    what tools for ipad app development

    Hi,

    I am newbie to mobile development. in 2 weeks, i will be develop an app for iPad using html, css and jquery. i am tryign to learn app development.

    can you suggest what tools/dev env do I need? can i develop on my laptop and how do i test whether it will work on ipad. is there any dev environment that i will need to develop and unit test.

    pls advice. thanks

    If you are looking for an emulator, maybe you should google "xcode 4". I wish I could run it, but sadly it would only run on Mac

    i dont have Mac. I have XP machine, so I guess I should search for emulators for XP machine.

    If you want to deploy to Apple's iTunes App Store, then you'll need to work on a Mac with Xcode. The Xcode 4 IDE (free to download and learn) has a built-in emulator for the iPhone and iPad, but to test on a device requires that you pay Apple $99 a year (which includes permission to publish apps to the App Store too.) If you click on my sig, you'll see several tutorials on how to use PhoneGap/Cordova to assemble your project on Windows (for Android) or Mac (for the App Store).
