    Saving/Restoring Variables

    Hi. Help some help. I developed a frameless site in FP2000. Each page
    has an inserted page webbot for the top, bottom, and left side of the
    page. Now I need to hold information, sorta like a checkout cart, but
    doesn't require security. Any suggestions?

    If I had a framed site, I'd define javascript variables within the top
    page launching the <frame>. I could do cookies, but what if someone
    visits the site with cookies disabled? Could I save/restore variable information using ASP? If so, how. Any advice would be greatly
    appreciated...Dennis

    Yeah, you could store the information using ASP, the method would depend on what information you are storing and like how the information can be linked to a specific user. For example, do they have to login to use this functionality or enter some peice of information in?

    I'll have the user login. I want to be able to obtain this user id, for as long as he is on the site. If he goes to the image catalog, I want him to be able to select from a list of images. This select list, as well as his user id, is needed on the email he can send off.

    I won't want global variables, just variable for that person while he is on the site.

    @dallen24,
    You can use Session variables then, because they are user specific and last only as long as the user has an open session. Look here for help: http://www.w3schools.com/asp/asp_sessions.asp
