    Delete record automatically from Access

    HI

I have created a function to insert bookings into an Access database. I would like to be able to delete all bookings which are older than 30 minutes from the database to make the booking available again for other customers (this is the time the customer needs to verify his booking via an email link).

Can I delete records automatically from a database when they are out of date?

Well, you could do one of two things that I can think of off the top of my head:

    1) Make it so whenever they view the available bookings, it runs a query to delete the old ones before it runs the query to look for available ones.

    2) Assuming you have sufficent access on the server, you could write a script and schedule it to run at whatever interval you desire that would delete the old ones.
