    javascript with asp

    how do i make javascript variables work with asp that can work with different pages

    I think you are confused, let me shed some light on the subject.

    First ASP and JavaScript can't interact with eachother, however you can have ASP write JavaScript and you can code in JavaScript in ASP environment. You can't how ever have ASP and Client Side JavaScript exchange variables, this is cause ASP is processed on the server and is sent to the browser, before the browser even calls JavaScript.

    Post How about <javascript runat="server">

    I'm a newbie....

    Doing some reading.... saw ur post
    Is it possible to some how exchange or have some form of dialog with a script run at the server and one thats run client side?

    Is it that all server variables created are killed and destroyed before the data is sent to the browser?

    Yes all ASP variables, are destroyed and never sent to the browser. ASP only send HTML output.
