passing variables through the "post" method
I've done several google searches and waded through lots of sites. Here's the deal. I have a Search page where users click one of six checkgroup buttons(radio buttons) and do a search by chosen criteria(name, birthday, city, state, zip). On the right side of form is two text boxes where user can enter search information with labels next to the check boxes. My page is coded so that when user clicks "Name", the label changes to "Name"...."City", the label changes to "City". This means that when user hits the "Submit" button, the first textbox can be assigned to the variable 'strfirstname' or it can be assigned to the variable 'strcity', depending on the checkbox selected.
Problem: I can do the search on the first name as its the first button choice, but my code jumps out of the "nested IF - THEN" condition that I'm using to pass the variables. Oh, also my Interdev tends to crash sometimes when I attempt to run debug mode, making it hard for me to see the code running.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

It helps to post the code so we can look at it and see what the problem may be. Otherwise we are merely guessing. So go ahead and post the code.
