Unhappy ASP page is not execute

When I run an ASP page it prompts:
do you want to open or save file?
I select OPEN and it opens an ASP page's source code in an editor as opposed to execute that ASP page.

    How do I fix that?

My computer could run ASP page; other ASP pages run fine.

I have the same thing happen, but it only happens when I request a page set to stream Excel data. If the client machine has Excel installed, it works great...on a machine without Excel, it prompts to save the asp page itself.

What are you trying to accomplish on the ASP page in question and what is the mime type set to in your code?

This might be the incorrect path of the ASP file.
When u run an asp file, if the file path is "C:\Desktop\wwwroot\abc.asp"(This may happen when u try to copy a file to a new folder that is not in the wwwroot folder...) so just double check ur path or Form's URL in the particular ASP file or the previous file path.
    Thanks.

The obvious question is do you have either PWS or IIS installed on your computer? Without a webserver you will always get the source code when you try to view the page. Next question. If you do have IIS, is the file in the wwwroot directory in the inetpub directory? If so then type in the ip address of the machine instead of the file location. If the machine is NOT networked then type in http://192.168.1.1/someasp_page.asp

I agree with Miranda... is IIS installed?

If so, instead of accessing it directly, have you tried using http://localhost/the_path_to_your_page ?
