    <textarea><%%></textarea>

    while inserting in textarea
    <textarea name="xyz"></textarea>

    it is inserting all the copy which user enters from browser

    but while editing same copy
    when i am writing code like

    response.write "<textarea name='xyz'>"&request("xyz")&"</textarea>"

    it shows me all the containt in textarea but does not allow me to save or submit the form not returning any error

    I don't know why?

    Then there is probably somethin wrong ...

    Did you include a submitbutton ? What code is executed on the page you post the form to ?

    Make sure that there's no HTML between the TEXTAREA tags. You also shouldn't be using the Request object to retrieve fields generically (it's inefficient and a security risk) - always specify the collection.

    Here's a modified version of your code which assumes you have POSTed the field to the script:
