    prompt help

What I am trying to do is when a user loads a page a popup comes up asking for the name then takes that info and adds it to the beginning of an ftp url so say joe clicks on the url after entering his name the url then goes to ftp://joe@website.com yet when veronica clicks on it and uses her name she goes to ftp://veronica@website.com the part that of course stays the same is @website.com ????

How would I be able to do this either useing javascript or asp

Oh and I need this to work with netscape cause I.E. already ask you for a username prompt when you click on the following link ftp://website.com

I would suggest a javascript prompt to get the password. Then pass the value to a variable where you combine your address. Then put that in a location.href. I haven't actualy done or tested this... just throwing out ideas here.
    Hope that helps,
    Michael
