    Is this a browser issue?

    Hello all. I am using the following code to automatically widen a select box, but in some cases a user has to click on it up to three times to get it to stay open. At first I thought it was a monitor resolution issue, but determined that it wasn't. Could it be the browser version?

    Here is the code:

    Code:
    <select name="selCase" id="selCase" style="width: 100px; font:12px;" onmousedown="this.style.width='' " onchange="this.style.width='100px' " >
    Thanks in advance,

    Parallon

    Yes, it is.

    This works fine in Firefox, but badly in IE (6 and 7).

    Thought you should know!

    That's odd. I know it works fine in some versions of IE6 and not in others, and so far it is working fine in IE7 (for me at least). Either way, I just rearranged my tables to avoid the problems.

    Thanks,

    Try using onfocus instead of onmousedown or even maybe onclick.

    Been there, done that. Nothing seemed to work, and since they are on a restricted network, I can't assume that they will upgrade anytime soon.

    Thanks anyway,
