Hi guys,

I'm new to html and css but I think my first attempt has been pretty succesful. Have a look:

East Africa Society Home (http://wwwusers.brookes.ac.uk/04103275/index.html)

There are are a few issues of compatability though. Looks almost perfect in Internet Explorer (except the banner doesn't join to the top border!) The banner works perfectly in Firefox but the mouse scrolling hasn't been disabled on the main window even though the scrollbar is gone. Oh and it won't fit the screen in 800x600 resolution! Any suggestions? Really stuck here....

You probably should have posted this in the Website Review forum. Don't cross post. PM a moderator to move this thread. As for your site. You aren't using a complete doctype which causing IE to go into quirks mode

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
should be

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

I don't really like the scrollbar on the content. You are better off just letting the content fill up that div and not use overflow on it.
