control from the parent

Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way that i could control a child iframe, from the parent.

I would like to be able to directly pass variables into a form in the iframe from the parent. Similar to how you would do "parent.document" from the child. Is there any type of control for this. In the past i have always just pased the variables in through the url of the iframe, but in the case i was looking for another solution.
