10-22-2006, 11:56 PM
I am redesigning my website, and I am kind of hoping to finish by january. so... can you review it? tell me what you think, give suggestions, etc.
I still have to work on the footer(s). but when I get some comments, I will adjust the design and continue working on other pages...
by the way, the news article was taken from sporeum.com

nice colors and effects. on the verticle links, i think it would be better if you didn't add a right padding on the a:hover. overall i like it. good job!

really? alright. that may work. I just thought it looked nice is all. I'll give it a try.

The overall impression is "nice!" I personally think the white detracts from it, or at least the "date" divs that are too tall compared to the color bar they're on. (Or maybe the bar's too narrow?)
Other than those quibbles, I like it. That's pretty good copy, too. Clean, creative, and correct grammatically.
(Comment on the right padding idea: you don't want text to jump while someone's trying to read it...)
Is this helpful?

I'm not quite sure I get what you're trying to say.
Also, I forget to remove the section of the horizontal menu under literature.

I forget to remove the section of the horizontal menu under literature.
I'm afraid I don't get what you're saying by that. :(
Here's a snapshot of what I'm talking about; maybe it's different on your browser. (I use Safari.) Notice how the white "Date" box is taller than the green stripe?

oh... I've been formatting my website to appear correctly on msie6, firefox, and mac IE. I forgot to check it on safari, but didn't really think much of it because so few people actually use safari. the author and date divs are supposed ot be the same height, and have variable width. If I can find a way to fix it for safari and keep it looking good on the other popular browsers, I will do so. thanks for clearing that up! :D
and the menu thing, I was making another page first, then transformed it into news and forgot to remove that section of the menu.

You're welcome. :)
If you toy with it & want me to check it w/ Safari, just PM me a link.

ughh... It doesn't work at all on mac IE or safari. but I only own pc's with IE6 and firefox, so I may need advice on how to fix it and keep it looking good on both.
and I don't really have experience with metatags. I'll go ahead and add those.
