Check mp3s for errors.

I've got over a dozen cds of mp3s, problem is, I didn't show them the tender loving car they deserve (They're a bit scratched up). Does anyone know of any software that will batch test the mp3's looking for errors? I'm not looking to repair them, just to find out which ones are still good. Thanx.

I don't really understand what you mean, so I probably don't have an answer for you :(. But how can you have a broken mp3. And how would you do this batch test? try to read the mp3 tag?
I ask this because I'm inrested in this topic

The scratches have damaged them. There's little blips, scratches and stuff. How can I check for this without playing each song. And by batch I mean I dont want to have to do each seperately, I want to be able to set up a pile of them to be scanned in a row.

Copy them to your HD, if your CD-drive can read them, then they should be fine (I think).

If its an MP3 and it does copy it should basicly be alright. I have actually seen a data CD be useable (it took like 10mins to read a file) that had a scratch in the actual data area of a CD. If its a music CD, get Exact Audio Copy. EAC will go through and use the error data provided by the CD-ROM and try and get the data out of the damaged area using different methods, and even if it can't it will tell you were the errors are.

goose, like JavaMan is saying, since mp3 is a file format, and not a straight audio track, if you can copy the file, then the mp3 should be fine. if it were a straight audio track, then the scratches might make a difference, but in this case, they shouldn't do anything.

Thats the thing. I've copied over one CD and everything appeared fine. Didn't take too long, didn't give any errors, but when played some of the songs skip at places.
