I am new. I know HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. But with all that, JavaScript can do, I don't know a way to accept user input from a form and write it to the site (such as a messge board). Is that done with CGI? What's it done with?

Yep, things like that must be done with server side processing (i.e. CGI/PHP/ASP etc). Since JavaScript runs on the client's computer, it's obviously not possible for files etc. to be modified with it.

What do I have to do to get user input onto the server? What's a quick tutorial or example on that? I have no internet at home and I have never dealt with cgi before.

Is it to much to ask for a real working cgi that I can see in action and can run on my own pc? If it is, then where can I find some tutorials and instructions on it? Why is it that all people that know something can't teach it? Little do they realize that for that reason, the format of such things are becomming extinct...

Meanies! No one can teach, can they?! Only the people that know this stuff can use it. And in the future, there will be no more CGI since dumb people can't pass knowledge down. I am no longer posting here for snobs to pick on me. If anyone does care, email me at Tornado2@TailsFan.zzn.com
