changing the color of disabled text inputs

How can I change throught CSS styles the color of my text inputs if they are disabled?
I'm marking all my disabled text inputs with a grey color, but it's almost impossible to read the text out of that, as IE 6.0 automatically changes the text color of any disabled inputs into a dull grey.

i don't think you can do that, but you might want to try this

<input type="text" value="" name="test" readonly="true">

now the people can clearly read it but not mess with it.

input[disabled] {
/* bla */
}

Or perhaps:

input:disabled {
/* bla */
}

Should do the trick in Moz.
