I need a good MP3 player embeddable in my page. It should fit nicely in a 600px*170px space. I've searched everywhere, and the best thing I could find is jlGui (http://www.javazoom.net/applets/jlguiapplet/), which I will continue to use if I can't find anything else.

It needs to be able to play files off the local system, not the server. I'd like one with playlist support, but it's not necessary. FLAM Player (http://flamplayer.com/) would be ideal, except that I don't think it can play local files. JavaScript, PHP, mySQL etc. is available.

Thanks for any help you can give if you know of any good MP3 players, I'm hoping there are some hidden ones that I haven't been able to find.

Why local files? Only you will be able to here them.

One thing I forgot to mention; files should be selectable (preferably in an Open Dialog). The purpose of the player is to be like a normal MP3 player on the PC.

Ahh yeah see that would help. Where do you intend on running this app? Locally on the users desktop or on the web? If its on the web then you may run into problems as some browsers can't access local files due to security reasons.

I want to run it on the web. jlGui has worked successfully on Firefox and IE, although Opera has to go through about 10 security checks before the applet even loads, but it does work eventually.
