View Full Version : Embedded Windows Media Player

I've put together a Windows Media Player object which will work in IE and Firefox. I've set it so it will only show the visualizations, which works for me. Meanwhile, my friend has Windows Media player 11 BETA 2 and he sees the controls like play, stop, volume and mute rather than the visualizations.

Here is my code:

<object classid="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6" id="fmplayer" name="player" width="158" height="103" standby="Loading" CODEBASE="CODEBASE=http:/activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,4,5,715" align="center">
<param name="url" value="http://www.bobblefm.co.uk/fmplayer.asx">
<param name="uiMode" value="none">
<param name="autostart" value="-1">
<param name="rate" value="1">
<param name="balance" value="0">
<param name="currentPosition" value="0">
<param name="defaultFrame" value>
<param name="playCount" value="1">
<param name="currentMarker" value="0">
<param name="invokeURLs" value="-1">
<param name="baseURL" value>
<param name="volume" value="70">
<param name="mute" value="0">
<param name="stretchToFit" value="0">
<param name="windowlessVideo" value="0">
<param name="enabled" value="-1">
<param name="enableContextMenu" value="-1">
<param name="showControls" value="false">
<param name="fullScreen" value="0">
<param name="SAMIStyle" value>
<param name="SAMILang" value>
<param name="SAMIFilename" value>
<param name="captioningID" value>
<param name="enableErrorDialogs" value="0">
<embed id="fmplayer" src="http://www.bobblefm.co.uk/fmplayer.asx" width="180" height="103" autostart="true" controls="playbutton" showstatusbar="false" url="http://www.bobblefm.co.uk/fmplayer.asx" autoplay="true" uimode="none"></object>

If anybody knows how I can configure my markup so it will work both ways, that would be extremely helpful :)

Thanks in advanced,

The classid isn't available yet for WMP11. Its still in beta. Don't worry about it just yet. Just live with it.
