View Full Version : So how DO you get around the image float bug in IE?

I've seen multiple articles on the fact that images don't show up when placed inside a relative DIV.

I assume from what I've read that there is a solution, but I've yet to track it down.

I have an absolute div in my page to wrap my content.. and inside of that I have some relative divs to do a drop shadow effect. Any time I place a floating image inside the drop shadow, the image shows up as empty white space.

Any help would be grand. Thanks in advance!

You could try involking hasLayout which basically means, set a height to the div. It doesn't matter what height. Just be sure its fed to IE6 only.

* html #someid {
height:1%;
}
or

<!--[if lte IE 6]>
<style type="text/css">
#someid {
height:1%;
}
</style>
<![endif]-->
Another solution that might work is to make the images position:relative; as well.
