Does anyone know how to float an image over a table border?

Here is an example that I made in Paint quick as I don't know of any examples on the internet.

Why do you want to float something over a table border? Just use absolute or relative positioning.

Why ... just because. I have 15 images that are transparent, there is no need to remake them to have a border effect behind them when CSS will work just fine. Think outside of the box!

After searching around lastnight I found that 2layers using relative positioning worked great. It allows the table to be placed anywhere on the page and not need to change any of the CSS values.

Think outside of the box!I wasn't taking issue that you wanted to overlap things, just that you wanted to do it using a float. CSS relative and absolute positioning are good for that; seems that's what you got to work for you anyway. Both of those are CSS properties though so “not need[ing] to change any of the CSS values” seems a bit cryptic.
